People with ADHD crave stimulation. Make
wise choices. When you choose things to do, stop and ask yourself if it they are good for you. Exercise can be highly stimulating, and it offers health benefits. Keep your choices healthy.
Mind your health habits. Eat nutritious meals. Avoid
"binge" eating. Sleeping difficulties are common,
especially among women with ADHD. If
you're having problems with your sleep, talk to your
doctor or therapist. Meditation and yoga are good
ways to relax. They can help you start your day fresh, or unwind at bedtime.
Take breaks during the day in between activities. This can be a time to gather your thoughts, renew your energy, and prepare for the next task or event. Take breaks when you feel overwhelmed or upset.
Stress
Many people with ADHDespecially
womentry to do too much. Make sure to keep some balance in your life. Don't overload yourself with too many things to do. Find things that cause stress in your life, such as financial debt. Work to eliminate them. For example, try to avoid impulse buying. Living within your means is a sure way of reducing debt and stress.
Whenever you feel stressed, sad, or angry, switch to a new activity. Make it something that will help you
blow off steam. Try reading, watching a movie, or
playing a sport. Consider taking up a hobby, going on a weekend trip, or even just seeing a friend. These can all be great stress and mood relievers.
